Introducing FoodOps: The Next Chapter of QualityApp

When we founded QualityApp, we set out to solve a problem everyone in the food industry recognised: paperwork was slowing factories down. Digital forms helped, but we quickly learned that simply replacing paper wasn’t enough. Teams needed automated, intelligent workflows that connected their people and processes, not just a digital version of the same old form.
As more customers adopted QualityApp, something unexpected happened. It wasn’t just QA and technical teams using the platform. Operations, HSE, hygiene, purchasing, and customer teams all began relying on QualityApp as core operational infrastructure. They were managing critical manufacturing processes and using real-time data to run their business.
This revealed the real challenge facing the food sector: disconnected people, systems, and data. Traditional software often solves isolated problems, leaving teams to work in silos and rely on workarounds.
“Paperwork isn’t the real problem in food manufacturing — it’s a symptom. Factories generate huge volumes of operational data, but the industry’s systems were never designed to contextualise that data or connect it at scale. Until that changes, factories will always rely on manual workarounds.” — Matthew Stephens, CEO of FoodOps
The result is familiar: paper forms, manual workarounds, and spreadsheets holding factories together.
It became clear that QualityApp was only the beginning.
Introducing FoodOps
FoodOps is our response. It builds on everything we developed with QualityApp, including rapid configuration, exceptional usability, self-service, and deep integration, and takes it further.
Central to the evolution is the unified factory data model we have developed, which is already enabling the next generation of capabilities, including:
- Composable, intelligent data capture
- Real-time traceability across production
- Live mass balance
- Deep IoT and device connectivity
These advancements are all leading toward long-term goal for FoodOps: creating a digital twin of the factory.
The Future: A Digital Twin of the Factory
Our vision for FoodOps is clear: to give every customer a real-time, end-to-end digital representation of their factory.
A digital factory twin that mirrors production as it happens, enabling predictive insights, faster decisions, and AI-driven optimisation.
This forms the basis for the next era of manufacturing intelligence, and it’s the core foundation FoodOps is built upon.
“AI will transform factory operations, but only if it is grounded in accurate, contextualised data. That foundation hasn’t existed in food manufacturing, until now. FoodOps’ unified data platform is the critical step that will enable AI to deliver real value on the factory floor. — Matthew Stephens, CEO of FoodOps
What This Means for Our Current Customers
To our customers: thank you. You’ve helped us shape this journey.
